I am sorry for being pushy and not giving up after sending two messages that got no response. It may be due to bugs outside of sipx. But any pointer will help as I have been struggling with this for a couple of days. Here is the problem again:
> Step 1: Internal user 5907 calls 85907 and gets the voicemail prompt. > Step 2: 5907 presses zero to reach personal attendant at 5903. This causes > 5903 to ring. > Step 3: 5907 hangs up before 5903 is answered. > > Problem: 5903 keeps ringing for another 20 seconds or so until the proxy > times out (I guess), instead of disconnecting as soon as 5907 hangs up. > Real Problem: If I make another call from 5907 within the next minute, I seem > to be still connected to the voicemail prompt (now 5903's), as if 5907 never > disconnected the previous call. I get overlapping audio of the new call and > 5903's voicemail! I did a pcap trace on the Snom phone at 5907. It does not send a CANCEL after Step 3. There is an older version of Snom firmware I have, and it clearly sends a CANCEL after Step 3 and 5903 hangs up correctly. But I am not able to just conclude that it is a problem isolated to the new Snom firmware because of two reasons: 1. The 5903 non-hangup happens if the call comes from outside, via the ITSP. Perhaps there is no CANCEL coming from the ITSP in this case. 2. The problem happens only if I go Phone A -> sipx media server -> Phone B. It never happens when I go Phone A -> Another phone -> Phone B. I'd appreciate any feedback from you, even if it is just loud thinking.
