Actually, I am just wanting the sipXecs server to be the clock source for the
entire network. I thought that the phones would clock off of the server, and
if the server didn’t receive it’s external clock source, it would just use its
own oscillator as the main clock source.

When sipXecs can’t reach it’s external clock sources, it apparently doesn’t
pass clock onto the phones.

Maybe I’m mistaken and it only passes the clock source onto the phones, and
nobody can reach the clock source, since there is not going to be a connection
off of this private network.

IT appears I can set the server to be an NTP server, and it looks like the
NTP.conf file is set to have it be an NTP server as the default. To be honest,
I haven’t dug into the server yet to see why its clock is not recognized by the
phones. I figured someone had already done this, I was being lazy.

If I understand the question correctly then Todd needs an NTP source for SipX.
There must be more systems in the closed network then SipX, if on any of them
you install or activate an NTP server then SipX can point to that.
We have internal NTP servers and I use those for SipX.

If you need something for Windows look at:
http://www.softpedia.com/dyn-search.php?search_term=ntp+server
<http://www.softpedia.com/dyn-search.php?search_term=ntp+server&x=0&y=0>
&x=0&y=0

If you want the time to be right then you can obtain that by GPS for example:
