You might also want to look at iLBC and/or other low-bandwidth codecs.
g.729 requires a license for any device that wants to use it (phones,
softphones, SBC's, gateways); whereas iLBC and others are free to use.

g.729 licensing isn't necessarily a showstopper, but your posts to this
list illustrate that getting it working and maintaining it can be a bit
bothersome. :)
