I think it is important to realize that Polycom is compatible with over 35
different phone systems. In order to have that capability, they have
features that work for different systems, and not all necessarily work with
sipXecs, nor do some work with other systems as well. I think it is
important, and incumbent upon anyone deploying any PBX product, to look at
the different features, find the ones that work for that phone with that
system. As Tony points out here, they don't all work, and they won't all
work tomorrow. But, a great set of features work, and work for the
majority of installations you will come across. SipXecs, and specifically
sipXecs with Polycom phone,s is a great combination that is well tested and
well supported in the field and on this mailing list.

Subject: Re: [sipx-users] Speed dial and presence on Polycom 650

none of those (im, presence, status) methods are supported so stop trying
that.

when you added the phone to the group your group speeddials likely overwrote
you r individual speeddials. uncheck "group speeddials". anytime out make a
change you must send the profiles and reboot the phone to load the changes.

this is how it will always work. just because there is a button there it
doesn't mean you should push it.
