Subject: [skychart-discussion] How do I orient a zoomed chart? Print
suggestions.

All,

I'm having trouble orienting myself sometimes with zoomed in skycharts.
Sometimes views get rotated and I'd like them straightened so it's easier to
see what's what. Now I can rotate + or - 15 degrees but how about making it
so the bottom of the chart points to the horizon and the top towards zenith?
I probably just missed the button or dialog.

For the printouts (very high quality btw) I have two suggestions. I think it
would be a good idea to print the values of the meridians outside of the
star field so they are always readable. Right now I'm looking at a chart I
just printed and the 314degree meridian is printed below several stars and a
nebula outline. So the number is hard to read. Printing them where they
intersect with the boundary box would make them easy to read. Alternatively
there is room in the box below the chart to print the approximate location
and dimensions of the chart.

Finally a small ruler at the bottom of the chart that indicates how large 1
degree is (or whatever is appropriate for the zoom level) would be very
handy.

If you like I can log these are requests for CdC 3.0.

Best,

  Sander
