At first - shame on me - i's of course the GSC not the HSC atalogue ;-)

There are some differences between V2.76 and V3.0 and I write some
statements how I understood the functions.

The field definition is now a number between 0 and 11 (before in
degrees), representing the field-buttons on the right. The
degree-values can be set in the "Filed of vision" dialogue.
Field 11 is fix because the 360-view is unchangable; field 0 is also
grayed, because its a fixed lowest range.

Why are field 5 und 6 also grayed?

If I disable in V2.76 all star-catalogues, nevertheless (HIP)-stars
are visible. So V3.x is a little bit more transparent, than V2.x.

OK - this could explain the "holes" - but please look at my new
picture. With 15 degrees there is a clustering visable looking like a
cross - and it's not a milkyway ;-) The pattern is much more visible
if I increase the field of view. Ths realy looks like overlapping- and
overlapping would meen, that some stars are not correct placed in the
chart.

But limiting in V3.x is a little bit more complicated, because of the
use of Field-No. - the limiting must relate to a field of view (in
degrees).

Can anyone reproduce the holes and clusters - or do I have a local
problem on my PC?

many thanks
Dieter

PS: I'm a technical editor, and I would like to help creating a German
Help for V3.x. How stable are the dialogs?
