>At first - shame on me - i's of course the GSC not the HSC atalogue ;-)

The full name is HST-GSC: Hubble Space Telescope Guide Star Catalog.
It is important to remind the origin of this catalog. It was never conceived as
a full sky reference catalog but is just a large collection of star to help the
operation of the Space Telescope.
The bright stars where added later in the 1.1 version from the Tycho Input
Catalog (the Hipparcos observing plan).

>Why are field 5 und 6 also grayed?

Because they are duplicated on the two column. This is probably better if I
remove them.

This is the limit of four Schmidt plate (7 degree FOV). The plate overlap
produce many duplicate in the plate border. Look at a small field in the cross,
really there is not so much double star here!

The limit will probably be the nearest field you define below 15 degree. This
is the field 5 for 10 degree by default.

No problem with your PC. Just wait impatiently the release of the full UCAC,
probably this year to throw this crappy GSC.

This version is not stable enough for translation. I will call here when this
is ready.
