Charlyms, There are three different sections of the extres.ini file for CDS, one for each of three different catalogs- one for GSC, one for USNO-A, and one for USNO-B. Looking at the details you give below, it looks like you copied all of Bob's example, which was for USNO-B, but you used it for the USNO-A part of your extres.ini file. Note the first part of your example says:
; CDS VizieR USNO-A [VizieR_USNO-A] but later in the more complicated part you'll see "out=USNO-B1.0", so that's from Bob's USNO-B example. All you need to do is change the first part of the URL, up to the question mark. Actually, you don't even need to change that much, because they all end (up to the ?) in "viz-bin/VizieR?". So all that needs to be changed is the part between http:// and the next backslash. Here's the full section of the extres.ini file you need: ---------------------------------------------------- ; CDS VizieR GSC ; alternate VizieR server : ; http://adc.gsfc.nasa.gov/viz-bin/VizieR? ; http://z13.mtk.nao.ac.jp/viz-bin/VizieR? [VizieR_GSC] url=http://vizier.cfa.harvard.edu/viz-bin/VizieR?-c=$$$$&-c.geom=r&-c.r=$&-c.eq=J2000&-c.u=arcmin&-oc.form=dec&-sort=_r&-out.form=ascii&-out.max=5000&-source=GSC1.2&-out=GSC&-out=RAJ2000&-out=DEJ2000&-out=Pmag&-out=n_Pmag&-out=Class info=http://vizier.u-strasbg.fr/ ; ; CDS VizieR USNO-A ; alternate VizieR server : ; http://adc.gsfc.nasa.gov/viz-bin/VizieR ; http://z13.mtk.nao.ac.jp/viz-bin/VizieR [VizieR_USNO-A] url=http://vizier.cfa.harvard.edu/viz-bin/VizieR?-c=$$$$&-c.geom=r&-c.r=$&-c.eq=J2000&-c.u=arcmin&-oc.form=dec&-sort=_r&-out.form=ascii&-out.max=5000&-source=USNO-A2.0&-out=USNO-A2.0&-out=RA(ICRS)&-out=DE(ICRS)&-out=Rmag&-out=Bmag&-out=Epoch info=http://vizier.u-strasbg.fr/ ; ; CDS VizieR USNO-B ; alternate VizieR server : ; http://adc.gsfc.nasa.gov/viz-bin/VizieR ; http://z13.mtk.nao.ac.jp/viz-bin/VizieR [VizieR_USNO-B] url=http://vizier.cfa.harvard.edu/viz-bin/VizieR?-c=$$$$&-c.geom=r&-c.r=$&-c.eq=J2000&-c.u=arcmin&-oc.form=dec&-sort=_r&-out.form=ascii&-out.max=5000&-source=I/284/out&-out=USNO-B1.0&-out=RAJ2000&-out=DEJ2000&-out=R1mag&-out=B1mag&-out=Epoch info=http://vizier.u-strasbg.fr/ ; ----------------------------------------------------- Given what yahoo does to email formatting, I don't know if that will work correctly if you cut and paste directly to your file, but for each section, make sure the line that starts url=http:// looks like url=http://vizier.cfa.harvard.edu/viz-bin/VizieR? The part after the question mark does not get changed. If a full cut/paste doesn't work, you'll have to go back and redo your part for USNO-A (the part after the question mark), since you garbled it by putting Bob's example for USNO-B in it. For the other two, GSC and USNO-B, you just need to change the first part of the url part. I noticed your example doesn't have the following lines ; alternate VizieR server : ; http://adc.gsfc.nasa.gov/viz-bin/VizieR ; http://z13.mtk.nao.ac.jp/viz-bin/VizieR which mine has for each catalog. That probably doesn't matter, since those two alternates are outdated anyway. My file must be older than yours. -John --- In [email protected], "klauslms" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hello all, hello Bob! > Now this part of my extres-folder is: > ; CDS VizieR USNO-A > [VizieR_USNO-A] > url=http://vizier.cfa.harvard.edu/viz-bin/VizieR?-c=$$$$&-c.geom=r&- > c.r=$&-c.eq=J2000&-c.u=arcmin&-oc.form=dec&-sort=_r&-out.form=ascii&- > out.max=5000&-source=I/284/out&-out=USNO-B1.0&-out=RAJ2000&- > out=DEJ2000&-out=R1mag&-out=B1mag&-out=Epoch > info=http://vizier.u-strasbg.fr/. > Is this right?
