Whom do we have to ask for permission?
Nobody. We vote and then let the PMC know. Easy enough.

This is confusing.

Ok

I observed the general Jakarta mailing list for some time now and what people discussed there was *I do not have a binding vote* and even more *no Slide committer has one* unless he/she is member of the PMC!

This is for jakarta-wide decisions.

This rises two questions:

1.) Is this correct?

The slide development is driven by the slide committers. only! *we* (the slide committers) get binding votes. We vote, and let them know after we are done.

2.) If so, given Stefano is the only member of the PMC, how can we possibly have a vote here?

We are going to change really soon.

Stefano, who thinks that containment PMCs like jakarta are just a waste of time and each project should have its own PMC that knows what's going on.
