It certainly feels less than what I get with a 56 K modem through the
university, but with a much longer latency between establishing
connections. In fact typing this fells like the days I used 300 baud
modem off a PDP11. The problem is that I paid for a much faster onnnection
than that and have not got it. I am prepared to give them a little time
to sort out "technical" difficulties, but feel strongly that if you pay
for 100K/sec and get only 3K/sec you should pay 3$ per month not 90$.
It is my feeling that the ACCC should spend a little time looking at
Telstra. It would do the community as a whole a great service.
I would not wish anyone had to go throught what I did just to get the
ADSL installed. The record I kept of this rather unpleasant experience
reads like catch 22 on steroids.
