Description: Shared memory library
MM is a two layer abstraction library which simplifies the use of
shared memory between forked (and therefore closely related)
processes.  It hides all platform-dependent aspects of the process from
the user and provides a malloc(3)-style API.
 .
This package includes the runtime libraries required to run programs
 dynamically linked against the library.

I'm guessing this means it's already installed?

Is this a case of too hard? I don't want you all to think I'm ..... taking advantage? of your knowledge. If this is too much bother tell me where to go :)

Thanks

Nathan

------------------------------------------
# apt-cache search libmm
libmm11 - Shared memory library
libmm11-dev - Shared memory library - development

it most definately should not be empty.

try installing libmm11 first.

one way to solve all the package problems (and my preferred method) is to
compile apache from source (but you lose all the benefits of the package
management system). i use the apache toolbox (http://www.apachetoolbox.com)
to make things easier but you can also download src files using apt-get...

another free "UNIX". linux is but one of many "free" operating systems (for
varying values of free).
