dpkg -l | grep libmm will show the following if it is installed:

bunbun:~$ dpkg -l |grep libmm
ii  libmm11        1.1.3-6.1      Shared memory library

so it is installed on my machine.  I'm having trouble with php/apache
and cacti at the moment, so I'm following this thread closely :)
