I'm on SingTel ADSL myself, and quite happy. You can however sign up for Starhub Cable by the day. You need to purchase a cable modem (not sure whether one you own will also work, I needed one anyway). Then you can use that to sign up for short term (I think minimum is 3 days). It won't give you 100MB/s but I think 15 is possible. I have used this as a standby connection when my ADSL line was down/migrated. These days I also have SingTel's Broadband on Mobile, which also works well, if not really fast. For a single computer that might be an option.
