Hi Everybody,

Yes, I am involved in this collaboration. It is actually a follow-up from the
series of 10 Asia Open Source Software Conferences held in the various Asian
countries.

During the 10th Conference in Guangzhou in March 2008, some of the Open Source
Software centres in the various Asian countries decided to form this AOSSC -
Asian Open Source Software Centres. Subsequently, a Memorandum of
Collaboration was signed on 28 October 2008 in Cebu City, the Philippines,
among the 10 Asian countries' representatives. My Dean, Prof Chong Chee Leong,
signed this MOC.

We then met in Chennai, India, on 12 March 2009. Our next meeting will be in
Jakarta in October this year. We now want to focus on actual Open Source
Software projects among the various Asian Open Source Software Centres. We
want to start some collaborative Open Source Software projects amongst the
various Asian Open Source Software Centres.

Now, I am thinking of bidding for the next meeting to be held in Singapore in
2010.

Regards

Kin Chew
