I made the cross-over 4/5 years ago and never looked back. True, not
many will be willing to do the same. As I said before, its a chicken and
egg issue.

- Show the instructors the money and they will gladly cross over

- Schools are not showing Instructors the money because they are no
significant numbers in their enrollments

- There are no significant enrollments because the students are not
seeing FOSS knowledge being listed as a requirement in the job market

- Employers are not listing FOSS as a job requirement because they don't
run FOSS in their organizations

- Employers are not running FOSS in their organizations because they
claim that there is a lack of knowledgeable expertise and at present
this expertise still comes at a premium, better to stick to the "old"

- Employers also cite that there is no lead from the Govt
(everything must come from and end with the Govt? :shakehead:)

No lead from Govt = No deployments = No job requirement = No students =
No enrollment = No instructors ...... Vicious cycle ..........

IMHO, we just need money. Anyone has a few million $$$ to spare? We
probably have enuff FOSS brain power on the list to make it work in SG
with a few million $$$ :P

No? Then I guess we will just need to plough on with whatever we can do.
If we can talk FOSS, let's talk. If we can show FOSS, let's show. If we
can convince, let's convince. If we can educate, let's educate. If we
can deploy, let's deploy.

Not enough impact? I don't care. I do what I CAN! :)
