I use an Orinoco gold card in my laptop and it shows a lost connection spuradicaly but never sips a beat, I have an older airbridge that when the same thing happens with it I have to power cycle it for it to recover. My access point Is an APPO, my neighbor is using the aircarte (aircard ) and has the same condition as I have with the gold card off the same AP. Don't know if this will help but it does tell me that there is 2 problems. All other problems I fixed with a 15v pwr. supply.

Jerry,

Thank you and appreciate your suggestion, but that could may be temporary solution to solve this problem.  We are not sure whether this feature will create any other issue. I greatly accept your point and I will put your suggestion to our SB development team for the consideration.

Thanks again Jerry,

I do not understand why you (SB) seem you do not want to add the watchdog (reboot) feature? I understand you would like to find out the reason for this and fix it. But from what I have read and the units I have that do it I am having a real hard time seeing something in common with all of it. Adding the feature would still not be a bad thing even if you did find the problem and fix it. But until then we have certain anal customers that think it's a big pain to have to power cycle the unit. This feature would make them happy and us:) My .02 of the day.

We are investigating the cause of the issue and found your info is very useful.  Please capture the necessary information and send it to us.

As far as age is concerned, the 4 units that we have had the most problems with are about 6 months old.  I haven't had the problem with any totals (yet - and knocking HARD).  All are using the supplied 50' cable, with the power supply and power shot that came with the units.  One of the units is about 400' from the sector with extremely clear LOS.  I will be happy to run by tomorrow and snap some pictures, if needed.  These units mostly drop signal if they do not pass data for a period of time.

Our development is doing research and request us to gather more information. How often does this happened? Are you able to log the Data continuously under Statistics until the problem happen again. We need to see the log.

Is the power source clean and stable?

Have you tried with the 18V power supply instead of the supplied one for cable run above 100feet?

Is the Ethernet cable tested good, connector, crimp, water leakage...

Also, do you have the picture to show how the unit being mounted or placed?

For reassociation, the airBridge will retry everytimes and if the signal is strong enough, it will connect.

Guys the APPO's never freeze I have like 10 of them deployed both appo and appoints and and none have ever frozen or needed to be cycled (however I did it once to see if it was the radio or interference causing problems ... it was interference) but the AB's seem to love freezing at just the wrong time and I know its pissing off my customers, because eour competitors 5ghz system has the same problem (also no watchdog) but that's why they switched to me to not have to deal with that problem and look I have it too :( I really need this fixed, also im not sure if it's the same thing but prolongued periods of inactivity also causes the AB to freeze well perhaps its not freezing maybe its just disassociating and forgetting to reassociate. Can we get a reading of how often it tries to associate for how long and under what conditions and also a watchdog reboot to fix units that just don't seem to want to associate after 5 minutes I DON'T CARE IF the client sees the internet link flash every 2 minutes if it resets and brings the link back up they will be happy and besides its only gonna be doing it if the systems down anyway. Also that fix for the remote ESSID change that doesn't work resorting back to old one.

Thank you

PLEASE ALEX OR SEENI OR VASU we really need atleast these features implemented ASAP our customers depend on it.

Chris
