I have turned the power down to the point of dropping my clients that are further out. A radio swap is not a minor undertaking when we consider our climbing costs...
I increased the power on the ABO that had slow (300k) upload and that brought it up to about 1 meg. We do have 128 WEP enabled, will this have this much impact on speed? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stuart Pierce" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, July 02, 2003 7:00 AM Subject: Re: [smartBridges] Having throughput issues with APPO > Swap out radios yet, turn down power yet ? > > ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- > From: "Ray" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Date: Wed, 2 Jul 2003 06:47:23 -0700 > > >MessageI have tried locking everything to 11 with the same results. > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: Jeremy Oswalt > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Sent: Wednesday, July 02, 2003 6:24 AM > > Subject: RE: [smartBridges] Having throughput issues with APPO > > > > > > Also, be sure to set the rate to 11 Mbs with auto fallback on. I know I get 300K when I set the radios to 1 or 2 Mbs. > > > > > > > > > >--------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- > > > > Jeremy > > > > > >--------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ray > > Sent: Wednesday, July 02, 2003 8:55 AM > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Subject: Re: [smartBridges] Having throughput issues with APPO > > > > > > > > I have swapped the switch out for an old hub (10M only) and used a cross over cable but still have the same problem. Make sure that all radios have Basic Rates set to All or 11Mb with Auto Fall Back enabled. If you are too close to the make sure the link can support 11Mb. If you are too close or too far or poor LOS you will only get lower speeds. > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ray > > Sent: Tuesday, July 01, 2003 2:35 PM > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Subject: [smartBridges] Having throughput issues with APPO > > > > Our wiPoP is having throughput issues. We have it plugged into a switch that has our backhaul APPO plugged in. We can plug a laptop into the switch and pull 4 megs all day. But when we associate with the wiPoP we can only get 1 meg (total). > > > > > > > > We have 150 feet of cat 5 and we're using an 18v power supply. RSSI and LQ is 100%. I can start a download (internal) and get 1-meg and on a second client (different ABO) start a download and both drop to 500k. > > > > > > > > Does anyone have any ideas regarding this? > > > > > > > > > > > > > --- > [This E-mail scanned for viruses by Declude Virus By Avolve.net] > > The PART-15.ORG smartBridges Discussion List > To Join: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type subscribe smartBridges <yournickname> > To Remove: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type unsubscribe smartBridges) > Archives: http://archives.part-15.org > The PART-15.ORG smartBridges Discussion List To Join: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type subscribe smartBridges <yournickname> To Remove: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (in the body type unsubscribe smartBridges) Archives: http://archives.part-15.org
