End of the year. That is still many months away. At the begining of the year MikroTik was still at 2.6. 2.6.8 was released 18th Dec 2002 and 25th April that last 2.6 was released and they are already up on 2.8 and working hard with constant new features. I'm glad Brilan will bring you new features by the end of the year.
MikroTik really isn't that hard to setup. The basic guide is 22 pages long http://www.fament.com/mikrotik/BasicUserGuide.pdf and contain all information you need to install MT, setup it as a router or a masquerading router including examples and everything. Sorry that you didn't get any help in the forums. Obviously I must not have seen your posts because I always try to make myself have the time to answer some questions to try to help people get going over the first initial hump. Tony is a Brilan reseller just like I'm a MikroTik reseller. Tony is a good guy glad you two found each other and you got your routing up and running. I would almost bet you would be defending MT in the same way if you had found me when you need the help with MikroTik.
