This is not the case the FCC allows for a -/+ dbm variation in radio calculations most are 2dBm. For example may people use .5dBi loss per connector when in reality if you sweep the connectors and cable is most likely less then .5dbi for the full assembly! The only time you may have a problem is with AMPs you need to be careful this them :)
