  That was probably me, The easist way would be to use the Ipaq's you can get a sleeve for them that has a pcmcia slot, the best card I have found is the Orinoco "Classic" gold card. They have great drivers for pocket pc and most software supports this card and yes it has an external antenna port.

Someone mentioned that they used a PDA and a pc card to do a site survey.  Can you let me know which PDA and which card you were using and if the card has an external antenna hookup?
 
I am am finding the laptop thing is too dangerous and time consuming when going up and down the ladder.
