I have an identical SmartOS box and use znapzend running in the source gz and
replicate the whole zones pool to the target and incrementals following. I've
not tried it, but in the event of something catastrophic I plan to change the
mac addresses on the /usbkey/config and hopefully bring up the target as the
source. With znapzend, a pre/post snapshot command can be specified to flush
mysql data to disk or other such task.

I've never tested this and have no critical data anyway, but if anyone can
give me the heads up if I'm doing this really wrong I would appreciate it. But
at least I have a good copy of my data and vms.

 Hi All,

I'm considering my options for backing up my SmartOS zones pool.

My options seem to be -
Backup to Directly Attached Storage via ESATA or USB 3
Backup to a NAS on the network.

 What are other back options?
What are the pros and cons of each?

 Thanks

 Rickie
