I bought an iPhone 3Gs yesterday (yay) and want to transfer my old stuff (settings mainly). But I can't persuade it. I followed the intructions about restoring from back-up of old phone (<http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2109>) but it doesn't transfer any settings. The thing I really don't want to do without are my SMS history.
I've reset/restored the new one 4 times and chosen a specific timed backup of the old one, to no avail. I think it got confused because I had to upgrade the new phone to 3.1.2 before I could do this.
