if nothing else, Mailsmith has probably the most robust import/export  
facilities, which might be useful.

if you are going to use 'important' email to test on, make sure you  
tell them to leave the messages on the server -- that way you can  
easily get them all into the same place during the trial period. And  
remember that Mailsmith doesn't do IMAP!
