Hi, I have a Time Capsule for all my networking, wired and wireless. It has to be positioned by my cable modem where our Virgin connection enters the house. This is a corner of a downstairs room with a number of obstructions (chimney breast for example) and the TV within close range (not recommended). I would like to change my setup, hoping for improved wireless signal strength and speed.
I have a wireless router that Virgin supplied and have never used. Am I right in thinking that if I connect this to the cable modem I can use an ethernet cable to connect to one of the 4 ports on it and connect the other end of the same cable to one of the TC's three ethernet ports and have a working set-up? This would be good for me as the (to be hidden) ethernet cable will allow me to position the TC elsewhere and I may also be able to run two wireless networks (one 'n' and one 'g') using each of the two routers. I'd appreciate confirmation or further advice on the above if anyone can help.
