Again many thanks, Sam. I did fsck -fy; the system found a couple of missing threads and directory records and "successfully repaired the local disk". On re- boot there is the Trash still with its 19 pesky Zero KB files that can't be copied or deleted!! Shall I just live with them, since they can't be taking up much space?
