Ranulph, It works fine for me in 10.6.6 (and 10.6.7 :) ). You need to turn it on in System Preferences after installation and choose the activation key stroke, I chose F5 as it's not used for anything else on my system..
I suspect it will not work in Mac OS X Lion, unless Rosetta is included.
