Went to switch on my trusty PowerBook G4 and it is dead in the water. The
battery is fully charged and it is also plugged in to the mains. My wife was
using it last night and all was fine.

But today nothing. On pressing the power button, there is a sound from the hard
drive as if it is coming to life and then nothing. Not a sound or sign of life.

I know it's nine years old and has been in use for just about every day in
those nine years. Can anyone suggest a way of bringing it back to life?

It cannot be worth a lot but it means a lot to me and I don't really want to
shell out for a new lap top in those tough times.
