My general rule of thumb is that a PowerPC mac is a sufficiently dead platform 
that spending any money on it is not worthwhile.

You can easily take the hard drive out and put it in. 2.5" PATA enclosure, 
connect that to your new mac and you can just migrate the data over as part of 
the normal initial setup.
