I upgraded using iTunes and also had a period of time where the progress bar seemed to freeze. I had unplugged the iPad from my iMac because I'd thought it had finished. I plugged it back in, went to make a cup of tea and it righted itself eventually. Before upgrading I had to initially delete a lot of apps because I hadn't enough memory to install their updated versions.
My biggest grumble is the Maps App - absolutely disastrous. I am really going to miss the previous google version, especially the street view which I found very useful indeed when visiting new places. The new app is inaccurate, blurred and almost valueless. I've never felt so let down by an Apple product. So sad...
