If you aren’t too bothered about getting high quality images from the
slides I would look online for a slide scanner that copies them to a USB
memory stick which you can the. Use with a suitable adapter to input to
iPad/iPhone. They cost about £100. You can always try selling the slide
scanner afterwards.

In lockdown we’ve scanned our many thousands of photo prints onto our Mac.
I bought a Plustek photo scanner which I subsequently sold onto someone
else who wanted to scan their backlog of prints. So I assume that you might
be able to find a slide scanner that way.

We had slides too but I wasn’t bothered about quality that much and bought
a 5Mp 'middle of Lidl' slide scanner for £19. Did the job but required a
computer - wouldn’t work directly to either iPad or iPhone.
