I’ve taken photos since I was about 16, a lot of early prints, then slides and
later digital. They are now all on my iPad and I take that just about
everywhere. 📷 I have a Photos widget on my Home Screen and because of the
features built in to Photos I get to see my photos in surprising ways sometimes.

I mentioned this because, due to my mum’s death recently, I have been going
through all the photos from her home, hundreds and hundreds of them. Some were
my gran’s and she had written on the back of many of them - who, where and
when. 😊 Sadly, when I got to mum’s photos, 90% had nothing on them and those
that did would say only ‘67 or some other year! There were lots I’d never seen
and what was sad was that a lot were just in the envelope from Boots and these
were mostly all in cardboard boxes and some piled up and jammed under a nest of
tables in the lounge. Who were these people and where was that taken?

Now that my photos are on my iPad I see them often, which is why I took them,
and they are so quick to find. I often find that I can think of a particular
photo, or event and pull up the photo I’m thinking of in about 10 seconds or
so. I love that.

Printed albums may be a different matter but in my parents’ case, I suspect
that most of their photos got looked at around the time that they were taken
and possibly never again ...
