Since I posted it... I feel I need to follow up. I sent back the express-card/pcmcia adapter. It did not work with my new laptop. The hardware was never recognized by the laptop.
what's worse wass when downloading the driver from the manufacturers website, the install always crashed. I called their tech support... they told me their engineers will handle it, and they'll follow up with me. I haven't heard anything for 3-4 days now.
