What I really need are some pointers for the AP that I can just plug into a LAN cable from my hub/router at each end and power over the ethernet. I was thinking of a Yagi antenna. Again, a parts number would be nice from someone who has actually done this. I can make my own LAN cables so going the 200 feet does not worry me. Maybe 11n is a bit of overkill because I understand it's big feature is two antennas for better reception at a roaming computer. I don't think 11n gives any speed advantage over 11g. In my case I just need a point-to-point link so the diversity does not make sense.
The reason I have to go to a remote rooftop 200 feet away is to get the line-of-sight. At one of the locations I have to run a line about 200 feet to an antenna location on a rooftop about 20 feet above ground. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SOCALWUG" group.
