Stan,

Most Enriching information, yet,

Thank you.

I live work in the Los Angeles Metro area, (specifically Torrance & City of
Commerce for work, and live in El Monte near Pasadena).

So pretty much Southern Ca area.

So I ASSUME coverage should not be an issue. E.g. I'm not in the boonies or
high desert or Cajon Pass, for those that know SoCal.

Here's the deal, I'll pretty much use this at work. which is M-F 8-5am, and
want to be able to multitask, and do some Legal Research while not going
through the work

proxy or firewall, and not under the auspices of the work place
compliance/security/ time spent on the internet (E.g. WebSense Server)
report.

I don't see me moving my laptop around. I won't be mobile, other than going
from the car to the office and back.

I'm doing my 3rd year of law school, so I need to research some papers 2 or
3 times a year, before work, during lunch, and after work, but I still don't
want to do it on company computer, or company time or company bandwidth, or
under the auspices of the company watchful eye.

So that's my situation.

my creteria I guess are:

- PRICE first, at $60 for both Sprint and Verizon, there's no difference
(GPS, not sure I need or want it, so it shouldn't matter)

- a free EVDO card deal with 2 year sign up, is acceptable for me

- reliability

- bandwidth

Thanks to all WUG members for their valuable input!

Don
