Dear Victor, In several years of installing wireless routers, I have had one similar situation. There are two PCs, one downstairs and one upstairs. The cable modem and wireless router were originally located next to the downstairs PC, but the space was tiny. The PCI WLAN card was in the upstairs PC. I relocated the modem and router next to the upstairs PC and relocated the PCI WLAN card to the downstairs PC. Nothing else changed. Signal strength was considerably better on the former situation than the latter. I ended up putting a higher gain antenna on the PCI WLAN card to remedy the situation.
