I'm thinking of switching either home, work, or both phone lines over to Vonage.

This is second-hand since it's my buddy that has it; he says that he experiences dropped calls fairly frequently. He feels it's due to SBC (DSL provider) problems rather than Vonage. They don't recommend switching the home line since 911 service isn't available, and when the next earthquake comes, having a POTS line may be your only connectivity.
