In a word...YMMV.   I have 2 units on packet8 so while not vonage
specific I have made some observations:

I've had problems with echo and random drop outs.  it's close but not
quite up to toll quality.

latency and jitter specs along with implimenting network QoS (end to end
if possible) make a big difference.

I would really like to compare vonage to see if their higher cost is
worth it.

I noted that vonage is starting to impliment e-911 services - check the
website.
