I think that if you look through the listing of US religions you won't find Scientology, and I'm positive you won't find Raelism. Being tolerant of other people's faiths is not the same as redefining what words mean. I can't say that the Greeks were monotheist because the word monotheist has a meaning that doesn't apply to them.
But what about a belief system like voodoo? What about the Inuit? Do they have a religion? What about the Australian Aboriginal?
