At least one I know of, Saint Brigit, is a metamorphozed Irish deity, Brigit, though what precisely her "portfolioi" was, I don't know. I think she may well have been the goddess of childbirth and the family hearth amongst other things ... ;) I may be wrong. And the saints of Tibetan Buddhism in a very large number of cases happen to be the gods of the pre-Buddhist Bod religion - in large part scrubbed of their more garish aspects. > > >>I wouldn't consider an alien God, even a very powerful one from the 5th > >>dimmension. > > > > ...like scientology and other fringe 'religions'. > > Scientology is not considered a religion. > > > If seti ever finds evidence of ET life out there I dare say a 'religion' > > or two will spring up from it. If you have a god whose "portfolio" is "chance", then a black cat indicating bad luck heading your way is just his little joke on you. > > Cheers, > Daniel.
