Look, scientologists calling scientology a religion doesn't make it so. 
The word "religion" has a definition somewhere. Scientology is not 
recognized as a religion.

I realize this is late and no one is likely to care, but I had to point out in this case that it doesn't matter whether you recognize the religion; the Church of Scientology has met the requirements of the U.S. Government and that of the State of Florida, and is recognized by both as a religion.

Yes, I know the story of its origins, and no I'm not a follower. It does show that there doesn't have to be basis behind a religion... just a sufficient number of followers.
