This has been discussed to exhaustion before here: there don't seem to
be any mini-PCI or regular PCI cellular cards. Please consider
searching the archives next time; there are several available, of
which the probably easiest to use is Gmane.

Depending on what speed you need, your best option is probably either
USB or a PCMCIA model on a PCI adapter. If you can live with serial's
maximum speed, there are more options. If you wanted to get really
creative and have some time, you could grab something like
http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=8246 and
go to town - it has both a GPS and a GPRS modem. If you're not down
with soldering, there are also eval/breakout boards that do most of
the hard work for you.

Personally, I've only used Sierra Wireless and their branded
derivatives (both UMTS/HSDPA and EvDO) with zero issues. The question
really won't be hardware compatibility as nearly all of them are
designed for the same kind of voltage/current the Soekris is. Rather,
you'll need to make sure your OS of choice does what you need.
