I am thinking of using a simple mixer/LPF with a Heath RF signal generator
and a wideband frontend.
If this works I make a PIC based RF generator using a VCO driven by the PIC.
I already have such a VCO working for a HF receiver. The VCO has about 100HZ
short term ( several minutes) open loop stability with the VCO working at 10MHz.
It's strictly for ham radio work.
