I do have Spectran also. I will try and build up a mixer to use wit the Heath
RF generator. I have a parts order due here from Mouser in a few days. Some of
the parts I will need are in it.
If that works i will make a unit that can be controlled from the PC via the
serial port.
I recently completed a GAL programmer that works this way. And i have the the
VCO for my receiver working this way. The tuning and frequency readout are on
the PC but the Rx is about 10ft away on my work table.

I use SPECTRAN which works very well for me. Uses the sound card
audio input (mic or line). Guess who the author is!
