The Softrock 'Lite' reciever board configured to process the IF of a
receiver works well. I have one set up for 455 kHz that I use with an
ICOM 703 for HF work

Some people are using the computer controlled receivers like the ones
ICOM sells, and the Softrock is set up to catch the 10.7 MHz IF output.

It's not 'lab grade' but it's good enough for ham radio projects.
