Thank you! My mistake was to plug the monitor to the 1st head and to
use a different directfbrc for -vo dfb and -vo dfb:mgatv. The directfbrc
I tried had worked with a VGA monitor on the 1st head.

The first time I tested with your configuration, I got a picture.
"top" indicated 60% CPU usage, which is slightly more than with
mgatv. So, I tried to switch from YUY2 to I420. The CPU load
would drop to around 40%, but the video overlay would be all black.
Switching back to YUY2 did affect CPU usage, but the video overlay
remained black. Even rebooting did not help.

In the log, I can see messages like this:

[dfb] (re)configuring Videolayer to 720 x 576 (720x576)
[dfb]: SetParams: failed to set buffermode to back video, reverting to normal
[dfb] SetParams:
action=IDirectFBDisplayLayer::SetConfiguration(DFBDisplayLayerConfig&),
result=Not supported!
Can't configure ScreenLocation. Hope it is Fullscreen
[surface capabilities] videoSurface: videoonly PixelFormat = 0x00200801
[dfb] (re)configured 0x00200806

Any ideas? -vo dfb:mgatv works fine.
