in my experience the constraint is still there, its just not getting
applied on reload.

if you look under the delta, storedconstraints, see if your constraint is
listed. many times something changed, because of softimage's naming
conflict resolution or because you made the constraint first then renamed
one of the assets and softimage failed to update the delta. sometimes you
can correct this by hand in the delta and reload the scene or re apply the
delta. other times you can re make the constraint and resume from there.

there is also the 'models to reconnect to' parameter on the referenced
model. last parameter on the linked page...
