Kitanya looked at her a little oddly, surprised at the change of demeanor.
Rihannsu were formalistic with those they did not know very well, and this
sudden change from that to informal friendship was a little strange. But
Kit rolled with it, glad of the ease of the conversation. Caitians were
decidedly informal with people, although always polite. "That it has
indeed," she replied, letting the topic go.

>feeling each other out. Let me suggest, however, that we take your
>Jirr'ith and cut through to the reason for this meeting. Then, we can
>enjoy the dinner."

That really shocked Kitanya. Few people knew about the blade she kept, the
sword forged over a millenium ago, given to her by her mate on their
wedding day, and the number was growing fewer as the years passed. She
knew Matt was intimate with her, but Kit couldn't imagine it would be a
topic of conversation just in passing, an ancient Caitian sword. "How did
you know about the Jirr'ith?" she asked with intense curiosity. She wasn't
angry about it, she just didn't know how the Rihannsu could know something
so personal.

A little girl asked her father, "Daddy? Do all fairy tales begin with
'Once Upon A Time'?"
He replied, "No, there is a whole series of fairy tales that begin with
'If elected I promise'."
