"We met when he and I served on the Defenderrr, a long time ago," she
smiled.  "When my mate and I werrre given command of Starrrbase Trrriangle,
he was my firrrst and only choice to be chief medical officerrr.  We had
some harrrd times, but mostly it was a lot of fun."  She wondered what the
next century or two or three would bring.  She was just starting her
immortality, and it was hard for her to imagine what it was like living as
long as Matt already had, seeing all the changes.  She hoped she would come
out of it as well as Matt had.
