"This way, Commander," she replied as she started walking. "Was there
anything that you had any questions about, sir. We have a few minutes," she
said as she stepped onto a turbolift.

Dais considered what to ask. He had not understood how intricate things
were on the station. He had been ready for the complexities of work on the
station, which is essentially a port, but he never imagined the crime wave.

"What can you tell me about the various ambassadors on the station?"

Audra smiled, "Well, you definitely cut to the chase, sir. That is
definitely not the easiest question you could have asked."

"I wasn't trying to, Commander," said the new XO as he smiled. "I was just
curious. My career has not included that much experience with a large group
of diplomats. Granted, we have ferried some, but that was usually one or
two at a time."

She nodded. "They are like everyone else. Each has their own personality
and peculiarities. I guess I will start with Ambassador D'amondra. She is
the Venasian representative. She seems cooperative and friendly,
considering the current political climate between the Federation and her
people. She is a close friend to Admiral Lasiter."

Of all the ambassadors, Dais had probably heard the most about D'amondra.
She had been in news reports a great deal recently considering the recent
treaty between the Venasians and the Dominion. She seemed like an
interesting person. "What about Golan Dulath?"

"Ambassador Dulath is unique. He is actually quite surprising. He also
seems to be very cooperative. Not everyone trusts him, but he seems to be
working well with a number of other representatives. In fact, he has been a
moving force in forming a council of ambassadors sort of like the old United
Nations with Ambassador Ra'aj of the Aqualish."

Dais could tell from the tone in her voice that Firehawk did not like
Dulath, even with the polite words she was saying. He was not sure what it
was, but it seemed like it would be something more personal ... a conflict
of personalities or something similar. "Tell me about the Aqualish
Ambassador."

"I must admit that I don't know that much about her. She is extremely
private. It is surprising that she is so willing to work with Dulath. Her
people suffered similarly under Cardassian rule as the Bajorans. She has
become quite chummy with him actually."

Dais smiled at the use of the word chummy. He never thought that he would
have heard that word in relation to an Ambassador, never mind a pair of them.
"What do you know about this council Ambassadors Dulath and Ra'aj have put
together?"

(response)

"Interesting," said the XO. "I assume the Romulans have some sort of
delegation on board."

"Well, the Romulans are interesting as usual. For a short while, we
actually had two representatives, but it appears that that has all been
resolved. Ambassador t'Khllrenz seems to have become a replacement for
Kanaar. He has gone back to Romulan space. She is the sister-in-law of Dr.
Brennen. She was also involved in a situation that the press released as
being a second attack by the doctor. Ambassador t'Khllrenz has made a
statement that clearly indicates that that was not the case."

Dais found that the situation surrounding Dr. Brennen to be getting more and
more complex the more he heard about it. This new twist about his
sister-in-law made it even more so. Dais was going to have to take the time
to meet the man. "What about the other major governments?"

"At the moment, we do not seem to have any representatives of the Klingons,
the Dominion, the Breen, or the Ferengi on board. I have heard nothing to
indicate if that is going to change."

"Do any of the smaller powers like the Bajorans have representatives?"

(response)
