>"Well, that more than adequately explains the calls this morning, trying
to feel you out on your plans. What can I do to help? No need going this
one alone, and besides it would be nice to play a bit of politics.
Afterall, it would be a change of pace for me, and it would not be playing
politics with lives in combat. Well, I hope not..." answered her Magna
Roman Captain. He was eager to help out the war effort. Especially if it
meant sticking it to a few bozos that had played around with the lives of
the fine folk in Spec Ops.

"Well, just play the game. Afterrr all, a new CinC would need a Chief of
Staff, and the logical choice would be you. It's what Ketterrring would
expect. But Aurrrelius," she said, looking concerned, "I don't expect you
to do this. I would neverrr give you an orrrderr, norrr even ask you to
put yourrrself in harrrm's way, not forrr this."

It was good to have that kind of friend, and her smile thanked him more
than her words. "Thank you, my frrriend," she said. "So, I guess you can
put that legendarrry Magna Rrroman ego to worrrk and be my gallant
counterrrparrt to Ketterrring's arrrogant Tellarrrite."
